BETH WENSTROM, violin

Beth Wenstrom, baroque and modern violinist, is an enthusiastic performer, gracing stages from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and Severance Hall in Ohio to the Meyerson Center in Texas.  Ms. Wenstrom can be heard performing in such ensembles as Clarion Music Society, New York Collegium and the King's Noyse and has most recently recorded in the ensembles Concert Royal and Apollo's Fire.  Ms. Wenstrom is an avid chamber musician and has most recently performed with Phil Setzer of the Emerson String Quartet as well as Philippe Graffin.  She has also attended various chamber music summer festivals including Kneisel Hall and Musicorda where she was the winner of the 2002 Concerto Competition.  These festivals have provided her with opportunities to work closely with string quartet musicians from the Juilliard, Emerson, St. Petersburg and Borromeo String Quartets.  Her teachers have included Pamela Frank, Ani Kavafian, Soovin Kim, Lucy Stoltzman and Marilyn McDonald.  In her baroque guise she has also learned from Monica Huggett, Cynthia Roberts and Robert Mealy. 

Ms. Wenstrom, member of the musical honors society Pi Kappa Lambda, received her Bachelors of Music from Oberlin Conservatory, her Masters of Music from the New England Conservatory and is currently working on her doctorate at SUNY Stony Brook.  Ms. Wenstrom is a committed pedagogue and currently serves as the undergraduate violin teacher at SUNY Stony Brook.
